road trip west – day one

We’ve been in Pasadena for nearly two months now and I’ve been itching to post the multitude of pictures taken from our time spent on the road as we traveled West. Now that our blog is up and running I have finally had a reason to finish sifting through the images to show off some of our favorites.
Our road trip took us three days in total, with the initial leg spanning the distance of Chicago to North Platte, Nebraska. With the help of our lovely friends, we managed to pack everything up into a rental truck with our little car in tow behind. The champ that he is, Matt was the driver throughout the entire trip. As we drove … and drove … and drove the first day, we didn’t find the landscape to be all that diverse as flat, grassy plains rolled into more flat, grassy plains. This midwestern girl was anticipating the newness of the mountains and deserts I was promised to see.  (Excited to finally see a change of scenery in the following days, I made up for the first by getting a little snap-happy with my camera!)
